Building School Success Through ABA Support

At AllHeart ABA, our school-age ABA services across California are designed for children ages 6–17 who need structured support to succeed in classroom settings and everyday routines. In our clinical experience, this stage of development often brings new challenges as academic expectations, peer interactions, and independence demands increase at the same time. Our role is to help children build practical skills that make these environments more manageable and meaningful.

We focus on individualized, evidence-based ABA programming that translates directly into school and daily life success. Each plan is shaped around the child’s current functioning level, school expectations, and family priorities, with an emphasis on skills that can be used consistently across environments.

Core Areas of School-Age Development

In working with school-age children, we often see that progress improves when skills are directly tied to real classroom and social situations. These areas frequently overlap during therapy sessions and are reinforced across home, school, and community settings.

  • Social skills and peer interaction
We help children learn how to initiate conversations, respond appropriately to peers, and participate in group activities in both structured and unstructured settings.
  • Classroom behavior and participation
Therapy focuses on skills such as following classroom instructions, staying engaged during lessons, transitioning between activities, and reducing behaviors that disrupt learning.
  • Communication and self-expression
Children are supported in expressing needs clearly, asking for help appropriately, and improving conversational skills with adults and peers.
  • Daily living and independence
We work on organization skills, completing homework routines, managing personal belongings, and increasing responsibility in age-appropriate tasks.
  • Emotional regulation and flexibility
Support is provided to help children manage frustration, handle unexpected changes, and develop coping strategies for stressful or challenging situations.

Our team delivers services in-home, in school, in clinic settings, and within community environments throughout California. In practice, this means we may support a child during classroom transitions, help them practice social skills during recess, or work on independence during real-world activities such as shopping or community outings.

We also collaborate closely with families and, when appropriate, school teams to ensure consistency across settings. From our experience, the most meaningful progress occurs when strategies used in therapy are reinforced by caregivers and educators in daily routines, creating a unified support system around the child’s development.
